Directrice R&D, Carbiolice

Clémentine Arnault is educated as a Chemical Engineer. After working for a compounder and experiencing polymers in their various transformation and applications she joined Carbiolice at its foundation in 2016. Presently R&D Manager, she is responsible for the development of Carbiolice’ innovative and proprietary enzymatic technology, named Evanesto®, from the formulation to the industrialization. These Masterbatches aim to accelerate PLA biodegradation to achieve the Home Compost certification. Sensitive to environmental issues and a circular economy, her values fit to the Carbiolice’ project.

Professeur à l’Université de Bretagne-Sud à Lorient. Depuis 15 ans, il s’est spécialisé dans l’étude et l’ingénierie des biopolymères, de leur production à partir de ressources renouvelables jusqu’à leur fin de vie. Ses activités concernent le développement d’approches vertueuses pour l’élaboration et pour la formulation de polymères biosourcés et/ou biodégradables. Il a aussi dirigé plusieurs projets sur le recyclage et sur la (bio)dégradation de ces polymères dans différents environnements.

Diplômé d’un MBA spécialisé en Stratégie du Développement Durable et d’un Master en Gestion de l’Environnement & Aménagement du Territoire, Ewen CHESNEL intègre l’équipe Développement Durable, Communication et Affaires Publiques de BASF France en 2015. Depuis 2017, il s’est spécialisé sur les enjeux Environnement (Climat, Economie Circulaire) et Ville durable (Gestion des déchets, Qualité de l’air, Performance énergétique des bâtiments, Mobilité durable).

In addition to a general background in chemistry and molecular biology, Anne-Marie Delort’s expertise covers Microbiology and NMR spectroscopy, and more recently Metabolomics (NMR and MS).

During these last 20 years, she has focused her studies on microbial metabolism in relation with the environment. Her specificity lies in the combination of biology and chemistry within strong interdisciplinary approaches.
She works on different topics including Atmospheric microbiology, Biodegradation of organic pollutants and Biodegradation of polymers.
She is recognized in the field of the Biodegradation of plastics (polyethylene, polypropylene) by bacteria and fungi. The main goal is to develop methodologies to be able to evaluate the biodegradability of the plastics (fluorescence microscopy, ATP measurement, NMR and Mass spectroscopy). In this framework she has developed a test of biodegradability validated by AFNOR in 2012.
In 2015 she has been an expert for the UK government (DEFRA: Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) for reviewing the standards available for evaluating the biodegradability of plastics.

She published 146 papers in international journals and 18 book chapters. She was invited speaker at 69 national and international conferences.

Bioplastics Certification manager, TUV Austria Belgium

With an engineering and computer science background, Philippe Dewolfs has always worked in the field of conformity assessment.In the road and rail sector at the beginning of his career, then, since the end of the 1990s, in the certification of bioplastics.He currently leads the bioplastics certification department in TÜV AUSTRIA, which acquired this activity from Vinçotte at the end of 2017.

TÜV AUSTRIA is a leading certification organisation with more than 3500 active certificates in this field.

He is a member of several national and international working and standardisation groups and is regularly consulted to share his experience.

Directeur Général de Novamont France, Président du Club Bio-Plastiques

De formation juridique en droit civil, affaires, DEA de fiscalité, Faculté d’Assas-Panthéon, Paris, Christophe Doukhi-de Boissoudy, après un début d’activité dans le domaine juridique et fiscal a, depuis 1996, consacré sa vie professionnelle à accompagner le développement de la société Novamont et des nouveaux matériaux biodégradables d’origine végétale. Société pionnière de ce domaine, Novamont est aujourd’hui une des sociétés leader au plan mondiale de ce secteur et sa présidente, Catia Bastioli, chercheuse internationalement reconnue, est lauréate de nombreux prix et récompenses internationaux pour l’ensemble de ses travaux.

Depuis 2007, Christophe Doukhi-de Boissoudy, est également président du Club Bio-Plastiques, association française pour la promotion et le développement des nouvelles matières biosourcées-biodégradables d’origine végétale à propriétés plastiques. Membre du Club des Bioéconomistes, il soutient l’initiative 4 pour 1000. Il est particulièrement attaché à la qualité des sols et très impliqué dans la promotion de la valorisation des déchets organiques pour un compost de qualité. Œuvrant depuis plus de 20 ans dans ce domaine, il participe en tant qu’expert à de nombreux travaux de normalisation aux niveaux français et européen.

UMR 1208 IATE – Ingénierie des Agropolymères et Technologies Emergentes, Montpellier, France

Emmanuelle Gastaldi is Associate professor at the University of Montpellier and she is conducting research activities in the field of biopolymers and biodegradable polymers at UMR IATE. Trained as a biochemist, Emmanuelle Gastaldi holds a PhD in Food Science. 

Her primary domains of expertise are structuring/de-structuring of polymers for designing and functionalizing materials with low environmental impact for target applications in the field of food packaging and agriculture, notably biodegradable mulch films. At this purpose, she has been invited at a Breakfast Workshop at the European Parliament (2017) and has been requested as expert in biodegradability by the French Ministry “Transition écologique et solidaire” (2019).

In the last few years, she has been interested in the plastic waste issues with a special focus on their end of life options and their fate in terrestrial and aquatic environments through her involvement in SerpBio association and the scientific comity of the GDR “Polymères et Océans”.  

She has participated in several projects (ADEME, ODEADOM/AFB, ANR, INRA, European).

She published 50 papers in international journals and 6 book chapters.

Graduated from a master degree in agronomy with a specialization in bio-based chemistry, Alice Gueudet is in charge of the topic of LCA applied to bio-based products (chemical products and materials) in ADEME, the French Environment and Energy Management Agency.

ADEME is active in the implementation of public policy in the areas of the environment, energy and sustainable development. ADEME provides expertise and advisory services to businesses, local authorities and communities, government bodies and the public at large, to enable them to establish and consolidate their environmental action. As part of this work the agency helps finance projects, from research to implementation, in its areas of action.

Laurent is the manager of GBCC, a company oriented in the development and promotion of sustainable solutions for environment, and specifically by using biomaterials and bioplastics.
More than 17 years experiment on the whole value chain : raw materials, compounding and formulating, blowing and extruding for bags, mulch, industrial films or rigid shapes, management end of life…

Because each problem can have a sustainable solution, I’ll put all my knowledge and capacities to find it.

Frédéric est le co-créateur de la société Lactips en 2014, dont il assure la Direction scientifique.
Il a effectué sa Thèse en 1998 au Mans sur la ‘Rhéologie des gels de polyuréthane’, puis un post-Doctorat en 1999 à Minneapolis, USA sur les ‘Gels de polypeptides’. Il est Maître de conférences depuis Septembre 1999 à l’Université Jean Monnet de Saint Etienne.

Pôle Dangers et impact sur le vivant Après un doctorat en écotoxicologie dans le laboratoire d’écologie de l’université Paris Sud, eric Thybaud a été pendant 3 ans chargé de mission au sein de la fédération française des sociétés de protection de la nature (FFSPN) en charge de l’évaluation de l’impact de la contamination du Rhin suite l’incendie de l’usine Sandoz de Bâle sur les communautés d’invertébrés. Il a ensuite rejoint l’Inéris en 1991 où il a pris la responsabilité de l’unité d’écotoxicologie avant d’être en charge du pôle dangers et impact sur le vivant.

Ses travaux sur la caractérisation des propriétés écotoxicologiques des substances chimiques l’ont conduit à intégrer la commission d’évaluation de l’écotoxicté des substances chimiques nouvelles du ministère en charge de l’environnement puis la commission des produits chimiques et biocides dont il a été nommé président en 2015.

Il a par ailleurs présidé le comité d’experts spécialisés « Produits phytosanitaires » de l’ANSES de 2009 à 2019.
